Thanks to all our readers and writers for a terrific response to the invitation to contribute to the Ecological Humanities Corner in the Australian Humanities Review. We are particularly delighted with the breadth of interest.
For this issue, we are offering two papers on the relationships between humanity and nature. Freya Mathews invites us to re-think the meaning of the concept of nature and gives us philosophical analysis and practical advice for reshaping our lives. George Main draws on his deep encounters with Australian farmers and agricultural landscapes to analyse some of the roots of deteriorating ecological integrity. He offers us the inspiring alternative of ‘regenerative agriculture’.
